Hi, I currently work for a company on a fixed term contract However, they are letting people go after there contract has expired and just hiring new temps to fill those posts because they don't have the "budget" to offer permanent posts which comes with medical aid etc. This is an international company. Is this legal?

There is no obligation to renew a fixed term contract unless there is a reasonable expectation that it will be renewed owing to the conduct of the employer. Allowing it to run its course does not amount to a dismissal for operational requirements. Hence, there is nothing untowards about the practice.

I think everything is in the contract - you have to read it carefully, most likely there is a line of small print, you must think!
