my wife and i work for a small business in capetown.the owners stay 2 hours away upcountry and we run it for them.we were called yesterday 06.10 to say we were both being retrenched , just a phone call....the owners wife then came down and spoke to my wife , no reasons as to why this was happening , no consulting at any stage , and as we were both highly upset she said we could take a day or 2 to sort of process this action , which we have done.
i need to know what i need to do from here on in , we will most probably be given some form of notice in writing tomorrow , what do i do from there???
on searching the net i see the reasons for retrenching or financial (which is what i think they will claim) , technological or restructuring. last month the business did a far amount morre than previous month , so the trend is shifting up , but there are plenty "grey" areas that we know about and the whole thing was really surprising , and in myhumble opinion , unfair .....what do i do or not do when i go in tomorrow ....respectfully........Andrew
i have spoken to CCMA but still little unclear as to what next
