Different pay for work of equal value.

Hi there. We recently found out that our salaries are not the same though we doing the same thing, the qualifications and the grade are the same with no progression levels. The company never told us that there are 2 pay scales in our grade. For example an employee that has plus minus 10 years of service is on the same scale as a person who has plus minus 4 years of service but another employee who has plus minus 20 years of service is on a scale higher than every one else's. Doesn't this practice amount to unfair discrimination?

Depending on any other relevant circumstances, it could amount to an unfair labour practice, and can be referred to the CCMA.
