When the employer advertises a post for trainees and later appoints a number of trainees on a 2 year contract and others on a 1 year contract does it constitute an unfair labour practice and what is the recourse?

Kindly note that all trainees were interviewed and appointed based on the same advertisement which stipulated that the contracts will run for a period of 2 years and they all receive the same stipend.
