we signed a 1 year contract to lease a flat. private lease. we have the owners a months notice and explained to them that we can't afford it anymore. we paid for the last month. they agreed it's okay if we move. now they don't want to give our deposit back. is that fair? they didn't tell us when we gave them notice. they only told us they are not gonna give us our deposit the day we already moved out. the lady said that she can't afford to pay our deposit back because she would have to do so out of her pocket. and then all of the sudden she started with breach of contract
