Qualifications changed after signing of labour contract

I was appointed as a Shift Supervisor and signed a labour contracto with my company.  When I was employed as a supervisor my qualifications was approved by the company.  As  time pass the college where I studied this qualification closed down and now all of a sudden my company is telling me this qualification does not exist any more and they now changed the qualifications to a new Diploma for this job. According to my knowledge this diploma's subject are more or less the same as what I am qualified on. This morning I recieved a letter from the company asking me to respond on when I will be completing this new Diploma and if I do not respond they will refer this to IR. I have in the mean time studied through Unisa an Operational 3 Year Diploma, I also did a one year management diploma with Unisa and will eroll for a BTech degree this year. My question, is the qualification still valid althought the collge closed down? How do I need to respond to my company on going forward?
