I need some guidance please. 

we have been informed of retrenchments at our workplace and I had to re apply for my existing position. In our branch we were 4 people affected and one took the voluntary retrenchment option and the other 3 of us had to reapply for our positions. 
I am a white male with a disability. 
Of the 3 of us being affected, I have the most experience in the branch and I have joined the company long before any of the other 2 candidates. 
I also have the ability and skills to act in both positions, where as neither of them can function in the other's role. 

Today I was informed that I was unsuccessful at applying for the position and the other 2 candidates that has joined after me and has less experience than what I do has been successful. 

Please advise as to what my rights is and what procedure I should follow to object considering that I was the strongest possible person going into the interviews. 

The interviews was held by independent branch managers and we had no representation of our existing branch, as they had no say.
